This is our rear facing fan mount.  First design I came up with, I wanted to solve a few key issues that fans face with modern brushless motors:

For starters, if a fan is too close to your motor, the strength of modern rotors can stall the fan, and you get no cooling benefit.  Sometimes you can't hear that the fan isn't turning while on track, but it seems to be fine when you stop, this is the worst case scenario, and all you'll know is that you run hot almost no matter what you do.  Second, if you space the fan far enough away that the motor's rotor doesn't stall it, the air might not be doing job you think it is.

A properly designed duct will space the fan far enough away that the rotor has no influence on the fan speed, direct the air where it does the most good, and not "choke" down the air flow.  On some other designs, you may notice the fan speed change dramatically between open air running and mounted in place, and this is a pretty good indicator that the fan is being used in a configuration that leaves some CFM of air unmoved.

Not compatible with rear bumpers, but ideally situated for brushless motors.

We observed a 35F reduction in temps on a very taxed setup with protek fan running off the receiver. If you're running hot with this duct, you're doing it wrong. Enough clearance to use the full legal gearing adjustment range.
