MLSS Wheel Trim Guides include a wheel rest where the lip is at the class minimum ride height, so you know where your wheel will be in relation to the bottom of the body when everything is trimmed out correctly.  No need for a clear spot to be left in your paint job, these guides will self center under the tire sitting on your bench.

Trace, trim, and you're done.

Note: For TC classes, double check your tire diameter and pick how much clearance room you're after.  Gravity tires are around 63mm diameter, and work well with the RTT size, as an example.
